Tell About This is an innovative iPad app that has beginning to make some buzz among the social networks (Thanks Naomi).  This is a fantastic app for responding or creating a writing prompt.  A teacher can use it as a writing prompt for students to tell a story.  Best of all, a student can use the app to record their response right into the app.  Also, a student/teacher can use it to create their own prompt or even use it for digital storytelling.  It can also be used to "flip" a classroom.

LessonPaths

I just wanted to share a brief post that MentorMobEDU the excellent site for creating "learning" playlists on the web, has just changed their name to LessonPaths.  Everything else will remain the same.  For those that are unfamiliar w/ MentorMob, this is an excellent site for curating the web into learning playlists that can be used for a number of different teaching styles, such as: guided learning, differentiated instruction, and even flipping a classroom.

Creatorverse

Creatorverse is a fun free iOS/Android app that is perfect for sparking a kid's creativity.  This app focuses on scientific concepts such as: levers, pulleys, joints, and more as a user creates their very own invention and then puts it to motion.  This is a very user-friendly app that has users selecting from different shapes, connecting them, adding color, and then watching go into action.  Also, a user can browse through other creations and share theirs w/ others.

Math Tree Vs

Math Tree Vs is a super fun 1-2 player iPad app that focuses on basic Math skills (addition, subtraction, etc etc).  This app uses the familiar game style where objects fall from the top of the screen while players try to eliminate them before their opponent to have more objects fall on their side of the screen.  With MTV, a player tries to find the correct number that will solve their problem and eliminate it from their screen before the other player.  Also, players earn tokens throughout the game to add items to their monkey avatar which helps increase their replay value.

5 Dice

5 Dice: Order of Operations Math game by Justin Holladay just got a major update w/ totally new redesign and now w/ wifi capabilities allows up to 5 players on multiple devices.  This is an excellent game for using Order of Operations to solve an equation backwards where the answer is given but not the equation.  As w/ all Math File Folder Games, teachers/parents get instant real-time results via a press of an email button that allows for easily assessing students.

Biteslide

Biteslide is an excellent site for creating beautiful looking "slideshows"/ presentations.  This is a very user friendly drag-n-drop site that has students creating: presentations, slideshows, posters, and more by adding any type of media.  There is even a useful browser plugin that can be installed to easily save and access images from across the web.  Finally, Biteslide has an educational portal which allows educators to add, track, and monitor students.

OoO Calc

OoO Calculator is a new iOS app from the creator of Math File Folder Games.  This is a fantastic calculator that solves "order of operation" problems.  Best of all it breaks down how to solve the problem and also gives the student a "whiteboard" to work out the problem for themselves too.
